General, Daytime Use & Children’s Parties

Daytime Play Sessions

All Daytime FunZone visitors must be pre-booked and pre-paid.

Bookings can be made via our website or at our front desk. Bookings placed at our front desk incur a £1 surcharge per ticket.

All bookings must have an accompanying adult.

Maximum 4 children per 1 adult.

Booking numbers and details will be checked on arrival.

The play structure is not suitable for children over 12 years of age.

A height restriction of 1.52M (5 ft) applies.

Suitable clothing and no footwear (apart from socks) should be worn in the play area.

We recommend that children wear long sleeves tops and long trousers when playing in the FunZone.

Shorts are not permitted when using the rainbow slide.

No alcohol may be brought on to the premises at any time.

Parties are not permitted during the day.

No food or cake permitted during the day, other than purchased at the onsite café.

Any booking which appears to be a food party will be asked to leave.

Food Allergies & Intolerances

Please do not bring your own food into The FunZone due to the risk of allergies.
We have a Coffee Shop on-site offering snacks, hot drinks, cold drinks and confectionery.

Cancellation & Refunds Policy for Daytime Play Sessions

No refunds will be given on unattended bookings or booking errors.

If you are unable to attend your booking, you can change the date/time by clicking on “manage your booking” in your order confirmation email. This feature will not work if the session has already started.

Private Parties

Email Confirmation will be received once payment in full has been made.

MAXIMUM 40 CHILDREN

Parties are available for those 12 years and under.

A height restriction of 1.52M (5 ft) applies.

At least 2 adults must stay and supervise children at the party and on the softplay.

Booking numbers and details will be checked on arrival.

THE PARTY HOST PLUS 1 OTHER may enter the FunZone 15 minutes before the party start time to help you prepare.

Parties are self-cater. Food must be prepared before party.

Bookings are 2 hours long – we recommend children play for the first 80 minutes and leave the play structure to eat for 30 minutes. This allows children to eat without rushing within the time allocated and 10 minutes to clear the tables.

AFTER CHILDREN HAVE EATEN, THEY CANNOT RETURN TO THE PLAY AREA.

If parties have no food they may play for 1 hour 50 minutes, allowing 10 minutes drink up and clean time.

Coffee Shop – Tea and coffee available – please ask for more details.

A tab can be set up at the café – to pay at the end of your party.

Lids must be kept on drinks within the FunZone.

If you wish to make your own music playlist, just speak to the member of staff on arrival about playing it.

No kettles, flasks, cooking/heating equipment may be brought in and used.

All equipment must be PAT tested to be covered by our insurance.

No alcohol may be brought on to the premises at any time.

Standard candles are permitted (re-lighting candles are not permitted). No sparklers are allowed. Please ask staff if you are unsure. Should the fire alarm sound all users should vacate the building in an orderly fashion.

Candles are used at your own risk.

No confetti or confetti balloons.

If you are bringing helium for your balloons, please ensure that the helium is in a canister, as we cannot allow machines that are not PAT tested to be plugged into our power sockets.

All customers must wear socks within the play frame.

Suitable clothing and no footwear (apart from socks) should be worn in the play area.

We recommend that children wear long sleeves tops and long trousers when playing in the FunZone.

No shorts to be worn when using the rainbow slide. You may wish to bring long trousers just for the rainbow slide during the summer months.

Children wearing face paints, glitter tattoos or airbrush makeup are not permitted on the structure.

Party guests must vacate the room promptly to allow staff time to set up for the next party.

No cameras or video equipment are allowed, except in the FunZone, with our permission, along with parent or party host.

It is your responsibility to clear the tables after your party.

Food Allergies & Intolerances

Whilst every effort is made regarding awareness to food allergies and intolerances, the customer has a responsibility to inform us of their allergy or intolerance.

Charges

We charge a £30 deposit on each party booking, which we will refund provided that the Private Party Terms & Conditions have been met and the hirer vacates the FunZone on time. We only ask that you clear the tables, and our team will do the rest.

One amendment can be made to your booking. After this a £10.00 administration fee will be charged.

Cancellation & Refunds Policy for Private Parties

Cancellations must be made in writing.

  • 3 months or more before the party – FULL REFUND
  • 1 – 2 months before the party – 50% REFUND
  • Less than 1 month before the party – NO REFUND
  • If the Hirer fails to arrive without having cancelled by the appropriate method, no refund will be given.

Cancellations of bookings will incur a £10 cancellation fee which will be deducted from the deposit.

Illness

If your child is ill, we appreciate this is distressing, and we would like to help by moving the party date (subject to availability). The price will depend on the date and time of party booked.

If no alternate date is found, unfortunately you will forfeit your money.

General Terms & Conditions

Refusal or cancellation of booking by the Council

The Council reserves the right to refuse an application or cancel or terminate any booking for whatever reason without being bound to give any reason for doing so. Hatfield Town Council will not, as a result of the exercise of this right, incur any liability from such a refusal, cancellation or termination. Any charge or apportioned part will be refunded.

Responsibility of the Hirer

The Hirer shall ensure that all users of the Centre comply with the General Regulations of the Centre (which shall be deemed to be incorporated in these conditions), and the Hirer shall be liable to Hatfield Town Council for any breaches.

Parents or Guardians are responsible for all children attending the party. We suggest that all valuables are kept at home as we cannot take responsibility for any damage, loss or theft of personal items. The Centre does have lockers for customers’ use.

Fire & Evacuation Procedure

On hearing the fire alarm please exit the building safely and calmly. Parents or Guardians are responsible for their children, therefore please make sure all children leave the building. Staff are on hand to help and assist. Please make your way to fire assembly point B, which is located in the front car park. Wait at this location until a member of staff instructs you that it is safe to return to the building.

Equipment

Any damage to equipment must be reported to a member of staff straight away. It may be necessary to close certain areas for routine maintenance during the year that will not be available during your visit.

For Seasonal events decorations may be used by the Town Council within the FunZone.

Snow Policy

In the event of a heavy snow fall, if the Centre remains open and you choose to cancel your party, there will be no refund given. If the Manager decides to shut the Centre, we will re-arrange your party for another date or give a full refund.

Supply of Information

Parents/guardians should inform the centre of any additional needs when booking the party. The centre will take every reasonable precaution to ensure children’s safety but parents/guardians must ultimately accept responsibility for their child’s welfare. We can take no liability for any user wearing a cast, or already nursing an injury before going in to the soft play area.

Interpretation

‘The Council’ includes any member of staff from the Centre authorised to perform any particular duty. The ‘Hirer’ means the person or organisation hiring the centre. Persons under the age of 18 years will not be accepted as a hirer.

Exclusive use parties are available for those 12 years and under.
